Alright, so bear with me for a few minutes here. This is a little bit hard to follow and mind-bogglingly ridiculous, but also kind of brilliant. One of the biggest on-going transfer rumours and battles of this offseason is for Spanish U-21 international Thiago Alcantara. The current Barcelona man is said to be looking for a new home in order to secure more consistent playing time to find a way into Spain’s World Cup team next summer.
Above you see pictured, in order left to right, Thiago Alcantara, new Manchester United manager David Moyes, and MUFC’s Chief Operating Officer Michael Bollingbroke. Below you will see the three of them, as well as David De Gea, in what is possibly the most absurd GIF of all time. David De Gea is a teammate on Thiago’s U-21 Spanish squad and is rumoured to be trying to sway his countryman into a move to England.
This is where it gets confusing (if not already confused): In this spoof of Terminator, it appears that Thiago is playing Sarah Connor, being chased by the Terminator. Michael Bollingbroke comes out of the hallway to tackle Sarah Connor/Thiago when Connor’s son, being played by David De Gea, comes to the side of Connor/Thiago. In order to save Thiago from Bollingbroke, Terminator/David Moyes puts out his hand as if to say “If you want to play, come with me.” It is a goddamn bizzare story/plotline/GIF, but it’s also just amazing at the same time. The internet knows no bounds.
